Any PC members who take them up on this offer need to be aware that if/when we find out that you instigated anything, began trolling or disrupting that site that you face a ban from PC. We will not have you stirring things up there and subsequently having them come here to stir trouble.
Someone there found a thread here that is over 2 years old where a few people mentioned that they didn't think large trucks, specifically monster trucks, should be road legal. The powerstroke guy got his panties in a wad, posted a link at their site, then a bunch of them decided it would be fun to come over here to "educate us". The thread there is pretty entertaining, they call us all sorts of names and make implications of our questionable sexual orientations and political leanings...basically stereotyping. Then they sum it up by calling us uncivil b/c we suspended/banned/blocked them from continuing the assault. A few have been more civil here and seem to want real discussion and are a little more open minded. So this thead is an olive branch from one of those few...but even that was met with negativity by several at the powerstroke site. In any case, I don't want any of our members going over there to "educate" them or stirring things up any further. But I don't mind them signing up and trying to have a civil discussion...not that I'm optimistic it will be fruitful.
No ball and chain...but when reprisals for your actions elsewhere result in trouble for this site consequences follow. The idea is to rise above the juvenile fray of trolling started by others. I can't control what anyone does elsewhere, but starting trouble elsewhere that gets back here is seen as a negative action toward PC and we don't need or want people here that are out to harm the site.
The odd thing about this fracas is that the type of trucks these guys drive are not the subject of the original thread. That thread was about huge, monster trucks that are in no way safe on public roads. Most of the powerstroke guys drive normal, street legal trucks, perhaps modded a bit with lifts, bigger tires, and such. I don't see any problem with that. Tom
I have joined other forums in the past with the intentions of joining conversations and have been greeted reciprocally. My time is booked and Moderating PC sometimes feels like a full-time job. But I sincerely hope someone takes this offer; especially some of our members who own vehicles appropriate for both sites.
I have no interest in toy trucks so regardless of how cordial the invitation I wont be taking it up. I think is is just wrong and troll like to populate a forum you have no interest in. I'm not sinking to their level. If the site ambassadors we had visit are Representative of the population of the powder stroker's forum, I see no attraction in the personalities either. I play around real trucks.
Now, THAT'S a truck. Barrick Gold Corporation - Global Operations - North America - Round Mountain JV
I had no idea there was a "warring" site. Reminds me of Scottish tribes, or remember in middle school, as you socially mature and you "pick your group" or in some cases, the "group picks you".... I was not a cool kid in school.
No no, THIS is a truck! http://www.cat.com/cmms/images/C198751.pdf A lot of them are used in Tar Sands operations in Alberta
Perhaps we can marry octavia to one of them in an arraigned marriage. That used to work for making peace with the Scottish tribes. Tom
First dibbs on that arranged marriage! Nice ! But there is something wrong with the tractor. No clouds of black smoke gushing out the stacks
Always having been one for extremes, the family cars naturally are (1) a Prius, and (2) a Jeep. So I'm either a f a g or a carbon monoxide factory, depends on who feels compelled to cop an attitude with me on which day.
