I don't know if pop-ups have anything to do with it. PriusChat is the slowest loading site I regularly visit. It is really quite a shame because it is a great site. I think most folks just put up with it because they like the content.

Today is particularly slow. Perhaps it will get faster at a future date.

I"m on dial-up and haven't noticed that it's too slow. BUt here's what I do with Firefox: Go to the "posts since last visit" page. Holding the [Ctrl] key, I click on the ones I want to read. This opens them in new tabs. No matter how slowly the pages load, by the time I'm finished with the first one, the second has loaded so I read it and then the third and so on.

Great idea but....my font size kept get larger and larger while holding the [Ctrl] key. It wound up ungodly huge.

    What the heck?

you are holding the [Ctrl] button while you scroll. That's the universal "zoom-in" / "Zoom-out" combination.

Only hold the [Ctrl] key when you click on a link.
