Hey everyone I ran a test on my car today I see the purge flow monitor was not okay MID:$3d TID:$c7 is over max at 14.4Seconds, and MID:$3d TID:$c8 over max at -0.147kPa. just wondering if anyone can tell me what could be wrong and what the test is telling me.
By itself, mode 06 test results do not tell you much of anything. "Not ok" can mean that the test hasn't run or completed yet. Or it could mean that the test has failed. Maybe. It could be that a test had marginal results and might need to run several times before the ECM can definitively yield a pass or fail . Since this is "raw engineering data", I sometimes find that the results are not easily understood - not subject to "linear interpretation". Short form, until I see a (pending) code set, I don't pay much attention to mode 06. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Techstream can give you four results for a DTC judgment: NORMAL: the test ran, and things are good ABNORMAL: the test ran, and there's a problem INCOMPLETE: the test hasn't been able to run yet. Make sure the preconditions are satisfied and drive the confirmation pattern, and it should go to NORMAL or ABNORMAL. UNKNOWN: there are too many preconditions not met (other trouble codes preventing this test from running) to fit in the ECU's limited memory for unmet preconditions, so even after you fix those it won't be sure you got them all. (I'm not sure how you get out of this situation. Probably clearing everything or interrupting the power.) Each monitor test is described in detail in the repair manual—the troubleshooting sections are organized by trouble code, so you find the details of a particular monitor test by looking up the trouble code that goes with that monitor being abnormal. This is a little bit of an Easter-egg hunt if you haven't got the code to start with. The details include how the test is conducted and what the raw engineering data represent.
