If I purchase and register a new 2010 Prius in CA I know it would be covered by the longer CA emission warranty. However if I move away from a CA emission state, and my vehicle is no longer registered in a CA emission state; does the longer warranty still apply since the vehicle was originally purchased and registered in CA?
To elaborate, from the Warranty & Maintenance guide: So by my reading, if you move, you lose the warranty. If you move to California, you don't get the warranty. However, if you start out in a CARB state, then move to another CARB state, but move to a non-CARB state in between, I'd bet you'd have the warranty. So write your legislator, and ask him to adopt California's standards so you can get a better warranty on your car.
