Boy, he must have a very understanding advisor and university. I thought there was a time limit on those things. Now.....how long will it take for him to schedule the defense of his thesis?
I shouldn't admit this, but the first time I skimed over the title of this thread, I though "What country is Queen Quitarist from, and who cares about the queen of some tiny little county anyway. Obviously, I missed the "his" first read.
Cool! Brian May was my guitar God for a long time. I've always known that he studied physics, just didn't realize he never finished his PhD. The guy's pretty incredible. Makes his own guitars and all. I was lucky enough to catch Queen in Baton Rouge back in the early 80's. Must've been the Jazz tour. Standing only a few feet from the stage, I was in total heaven. What a memorable show. Those were the days...
imagine the continuation fees alone... here it's $2500/semester x 3 semesters/year (no free summers!) x 30 years... not to mention all the other big money fees they add in there... ouch! beyond that, obviously he wasn't working on a very popular topic since nobody scooped him in 30 years

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dogfriend @ Jul 11 2007, 11:12 PM) </div> Isn't it a bit inconvenient when your advisors keep dieing of old age?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(galaxee @ Jul 11 2007, 09:53 PM) </div> Somehow I don't think that he was too concerned about that...
Cool! I can say that I got my PhD in Astronomy in the same year that the guitarist for Queen got his PhD in Astronomy!
