Question about bleeding after inverter pump change

    So I swapped out the inverter pump while clamping down the hoses. I caught some of the fluid that spilled out.

    When I look at the yellow container for the coolant, it doesn't look like it's high enough when I look from the left. It does from up top but I'm guessing that I'm supposed to be gauging it from the side, right?

    So do I add more coolant that I purchased and then bleed the inverter? Or do I bleed the inverter first and then top it off?

    Or am I supposed to drain all of the coolant? Although I've been told that bleeding it is enough. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks again to everyone who helps out here.

    You can try bleeding it, but I don't think you have to do anything. Just top off the coolant if it's low.

    To get a better view of the level of the coolant reservoir, shine a bright flashlight down through the filler opening. This will illuminate the fluid and you'll be able to see clearly the fluid level.

    Ideally, you'd top it up, run the pump to circulate the fluid, bleed the air out, check the level again, and then top up if required.

    As you intend to clamp off the hoses, there should be very little (if any) air that needs to be bled out.

    When doing this job you'd only drain the fluid completely if it was time to do that. If your fluid is relatively fresh then clamping the hoses is fine to do and will save you the cost and hassle of a full fluid exchange.

    Maybe just drain the fluid into a clean container, swap the pumps, and follow the attached Repair Manual procedure, using first the fluid you drained, and topping up with fresh fluid as needed.
