How do you exit out of braking mode? Do you move the lever back down to right again or do you move the down to the left into Drive mode again???
Are you kidding? Hawaii is quite mountainous. Highest peak is Puu Wekiu (13,796 ft). There are many twisty 2 lane mountain roads.
I live in central Oahu... it's a long hilly climb up and down... five miles to an altitude of about 1000 feet...
Over the years PC members have pretty much tried it all: shifting into R underway, powering down underway, N glide at high speed, park while moving. Most of the time these were deliberate tests, but not always... Tom
I've tried several of those maneuvers but on an ice-covered road, so that if the thing suddenly slammed into Park it wouldn't rip the transaxle out from under me. Threshold for letting you actually do just about any of that, without just beeping and going into Neutral, is about 2 MPH. . For the doubters on Hawaii -- load up google-earth, turn on topography, and fly around there a little. You'll see... . _H*
If your speed is low enough, you can, however you'd have to depress the gas pedal slightly to get any severe braking/reversing if still moving forward. I believe 7 or 9 mph is the threshold. Going to park can happen at 3-4mph as well (usually accompanied by a sudden stop) - I've discovered this by accident when stopping at the mailbox near my house and getting a tad overzealous w/ the park button.
