I am about to purchase a 2012 Prius 4. We have a 1999 Volvo S80 we wish to trade in. It has 138,000 miles. Assuming the dealer would take this as a trade-in, do they sell cars this old or do they just sell it for parts? The car runs fine, but needs work, thus is the reason we want to sell. With these many miles, do they really car about the condition, scratches, dents, interior fading, etc.? I would normally sell it myself as I have in the past. But we just want it gone at this point. Thanks in advance, Steve
Steve, this is a wholesale car. I can't think of any reason a dealership would keep that car and re-sell it. Condition matters, but nowhere near as much as it might IF it was a keeper.
