Im 19, mom owns a 2010 prius, its in good condition, but there are so many things which i want to fix in the car. Still, i will need some questions answered from prius professionals (sorta) 1. I want to change the headlamps in the car, and i have heard that osram makes some very good headlamps (i have a flashlight having an osram led, its incredibly powerful), and i was looking forward to get osram nightbreakers, but the bulbs have this H in their names (h7, h11), what does that mean? someone said that h11 night breakers are the best halogens for a prius, someone else said that they will melt the connector, theres just so much confusion 2. is there a way to FULLY test the car? i want to test the engine condition, battery health etc, but there are so many obd2 scanners on the market, a lot of them are dirt cheap, some of them cost 100+ usd. does price really matter? 3. is it actually worth investing in a prius? im from moldova, gas prices are the same here as in the us, except minimum wage here is 300$ T-T ive heard priuses are very efficient vehicles but should i actually bring it to a detailing garage and give it a good polish and an interior clean? (a good friend of mine works at the best detailing garage in moldova, so he can help me with the prices) also it would be nice to give it a second life, so that after i get my own car i will give it to my mother better than new. im still in college, summer is coming, huge plans are coming as well. please dont flame me, im not very good in cars, i just need a good way to commute in this silly country. i might have not said some things clear (again, im not a professional in cars) so please correct me where i said wrong things, or where i might have not expressed myself normally. P.S. how to check which model of prius i have? (e.g. european, canadian, us etc), i think the car is an us model, it has the american number plate, instead of the longer european one, but again, im just speculating.
You want to put LED headlights in the low beams on the 2010 generation 3 that's the 2010 through 2015 or so Prius body style The h number in the book is probably correct I don't know what it is right off the top of my head but I have them in my high and low beams and I don't use the osram they don't sell them here or at least not the models you're speaking of there or if they're halogens I don't want them I want LED generally speaking I even replaced the HID lights and other Prius with the same LEDs and the brand I use is off Amazon this is the brand AUX Beam.. You want the s1 series of bulbs and whatever designation is called for for your particular car h4 h8 h7 h8 whatever it is doesn't make any difference that's just what's going to fit the high and the low beam. But first before you do any polishing and waxing and a whole bunch of fixing you need to go on and read all about your generation 3 automobile how many miles are on it It may not be worth doing all of this polishing and headlight fixing and everything else because these cars have other problems generally speaking You have a US market car so there's always these things Do your research and due diligence I don't know how old you are I didn't look I know you're out of the country You will have to do some very careful thinking If the engine fails in your country what will it take to get an engine and put it in the car Can you do that you'll be paying someone to do that? That's a lot of money in the States here you can easily spend $5,000 and $8,000 is not unheard of Is this something that would interest you You might want to look into a 2009 the earlier body style they tend to last forever with minimal work seriously it's something to consider if you don't have deep pockets and don't want to spend time changing cars If you do not need the hybrid battery and the Prius designation look into a Yaris they almost get the mileage of a Prius without the problems of the battery and electric motors in the transmission and all that wiring and nonsense It is something to consider consider very carefully study this for a good minute study long. Because you want everything to be .Skucci.
how many miles/km on her? i would not invest in a 14 year old car unless i had a lot of money. if she wants to keep it, spend your money on keeping it running properly. one important thing is cleaning the egr circuit.
