After verifying with the dealership where the previous (and only) owner of my 2017 Prius Prime did all of his maintenance at, it looks like I still have the original exhaust heat exchanger. I was hoping it had been replaced so I could stop worrying about a coolant leak but it looks like it's not the case. However, having racked up 142k km on it and still on the original parts, is it safe to assume that it's not plagged by the defect that some have experienced?
Yeah, the Internet has a tendency to skew the data since people usually go to it when they have issues. When I asked the service center at the dealership, they said they only changed a few in all the years the Gen4 was sold and the cost out of warranty was about $1500 Canadian.
