Hey there. I have some questions I can't seem to find answers to. I'm trying to buy a Prius II. Does this version come with the remote air condition option on the key? I can't imagine why it wouldn't since it would just be a software thing. If its not there can it be added/turned on? If I want to add an aftermarket media player/gps system do I have to consider anything special about the prius? The dash looks a bit oddly shaped compared to most cars so I'm wondering if a mechanic just makes it work or if prius' only support certain hardware/models. Are accessories powered by the large NiMH battery or the small battery in the front? Are using accessories (like gps/dvd player/ac) discouraged while the car is off? Thanks for the help!
dear prot, no it does not have remote ac . when it is in acc mode it runs on the 12 volt. if you turn it on the big battery will turn on and the engine as needed i still think this is one of the best buys. but if you like a lot of accessories then the III or above would be better. i have a 2010 series II barcelona red. and its great. fred from nashville
You don't really think that everything it takes to turn the air on remotely actually fits in the key do you?
I own a Prius II and it does not have the remote start/AC. However, I did see the remote start fob on the prius chat shop but am not sure of the specifics of making it work (if it will at all) on the Prius II model. It's a great car though!
