Hi all: First of all, thank you for all for this forum. I got a lot of information before pulling my trigger. So, I picked up my first prius 3 touring yesterday (traded in my old 2003 MDX). So, obviously, the gas mileage went from 15 mpg to 50 mpg! It drives great as well. Just a quick question, it seems to me that the luggage cover is standard for 3? The reason I'm asking is that I don't seem to be able to locate it. Any tips? Thanks, Gary
The 3 should come with a fabric luggage cover (4 and 4 Touring get a roller cover) Look for a bag that contains the cover. If not, ask the dealer for it.
My guess, open the rear hatch, pop the rear cover up, it should be in it's storage place where the spare tire would be.
It's quite useless - a pain to use. Mine went back under the floor after a week - then after a month into a wardrobe in the house. I far prefer the way just about every other manufacturer does it - starting with the Renault 16 Why TOYOTA didn't do the right thing with PRIUS is anyone's guess. VERY strange thing has happened though - IONIQ has the same hatch cover as PRIUS (and also the stupid foot-handbrake thingy).
I like the fabric cover. It's light, hides the cargo area from prying eyes, and wasn't difficult to set up.
I do too, it's easy to fold away when it's not needed and if you place oversized objects it will just stretch to accommodate them to a degree.
