In 1969 I went to a small, crowded theater in Tulsa Oklahoma to hear "Mad Dogs and Englishmen." It was Leon Russell and Joe Cocker on tour and for this former choir boy, it was spiritually electric. It was not (and never has been) from the volume but the heart and soul. Leon was brilliant but Joe was something I had never heard before. To this Okie newbie, a first concert, it was friggin' awesome and my growth in music grew. Rest well Joe, you have earned it. You have brought spirit, a rare human excellence, to song. A few brief moments when we can transcend or suspend today's cares and wander in a free space. So I thank you for the happiness you brought me and others who got a little relief from the cares of today . . . from our friend. Thanks you, Bob Wilson
