Radiator Fan noise

    Just hit 20k and noticed a "rattle" coming on at times up front, popped the hood as I was changing the oil last night and found that when the fan kicks on it sounds like it's hitting something. With the car off, I spun it by hand both ways and no sound/interference.

    Anyone else have anything similar? Going to call the dealer for an appointment, but I really hate taking it in if it's something simple.

    A clutch that's going out can sound like it's hitting something.

    It's an electric motor though, so I dont think it has a clutch right?

    You are absolutely right... sorry, brain fart. Could be the bearings on the fan itself though.
