Bottom mounds installed. I used stainless hardware. Upon removing what was left of the old fan switch, the pins were still in the connector. It was a PAIN to remove the remnants from the old connector. I seem to have a connection but not sure how good it is. I have a new connector pigtail on it's way and I'll put in a new one if it needs it. The bolt holding the lower part of the tie bar broke off. It's hardened because I busted my drill bit trying to drill it out. Not sure how I'm gonna tackle it just yet.
