Ran over a puddle of leaked diesel yesterday...

    ... I think it was diesel. It was on the side of the road and did not look like water. I could not avoid it since the other land was occupied.

    Afterwards the exterior smelled like diesel. It did not click until today. I am going to wash the car this weekend. Any concern with the diesel attacking paint, plastic, or rubber parts on this car? All paint surfaces have a layer of wax on.

    I would have washed straight away. User joy soap and re-wax as soon as possible.

    Agree on not waiting to wash. I would skip the joy soap and use regular car wash. The joy soap could strip your wax.

    Diesel spills on a motorcycle are a lot less fun. Yet, another reason for the world to own a hybrid! :)

    Oh yeah! Plus it typically blends in with the asphalt. Engine coolant is even worse but it's much easier to see (usually).

    ...I am not an expert on diesel spill impact on cars (maybe something on Google) but I would assume it will dissolve the wax finish in those areas that you waxed that it contacted.
