Just noticed a rattle above my head when temp drops below 60, only on certain rough, washboard surfaces. I am running 44/42 PSI, so I know what I am getting into. I have no intention to fix the rattle other than cranking up the radio. I know when cars age, they eventually develop more rattles. Question is, when left alone, do rattles do any long term harm? As in loosing something else and create a new rattle, or get worse.

Do you have the sunroof? If not, it could be a mis-attached cross beam (hidden above headliner). I had more of a constant "tick and click" up there until I partially removed the headliner from the rear. I discovered if I jammed a rag between the cross beam and the actual roof, I could stop that noise.
It was really irksome because I thought the noise was coming from one of the assist handles.

I do not - I thought it was the oh-chit handle at first too. I have no intention to fix it, I just hope that if I leave it alone, it wont get worse.
