I'm hearing a metallic rattle/vibration at a certain point during acceleration that seems to only occur within a certain RPM range. I've checked the exhaust heat shields and everything's tight and in good shape. Any ideas?
Could be pinging caused by carbon buildup and a low hybrid battery. I have seen it. Higher octane can help but a new hybrid battery could be the better solution. Pinging (preignition) is very identifiable by someone who has heard it before. If the cause is the battery state of charge it may go away temporarily when there is a higher charge.
