When I got new tires for my 2004 Prius at 39K miles, the rear (right side) was out of alignment but could not be adjusted. The tire dealer was concerned and urged me to get it checked by the dealer. The deal confirms it is out of sdjustment but says not to worry: it is self-adjusting "within limits". I am skeptical and can;t find what limits are ok. One tech told me they had figured out how to adjust the rear even though it is theoretically not adjustable. Another said come back if the tires dcon;t wear evenly and "we'll see what we can do". I don't want to wait until these new tires are badly worn to find out what to do. Dealer also said check the toyotoa webside. If the info is there, I haven't been able to find it. Help! And, thanks. Allen.
Hi Allen, welcome to PriusChat! Officially, the rear alignment is not adjustable. Unofficially, it can be adjusted with shims, but most dealers don't want to do it since officially it can't be done. Do a search for rear alignment and you should be able to find some useful threads. Galaxee and Tumbleweed have posted about this. I'm not sure if Tumbleweed is still active on this site, he drives a Beamer now. Good luck!
