Two weeks ago I went to my brother in law to change brakes. All of them. Rotors, pads, shims, plates, lubricate pins, all that jazz. All parts are Toyota except front rotors which are ATE because half price ($100) compared to OEM. Start job Front rotor new/old Front pads Rear rotor and pads Even they still have "meat" on them all of them looks rusty and cracked so I guess it was time for a full brake job. For slide pins I didn't find here that Toyota rubber grease but I found something close enough. This. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and lubed and put together. Car drives fine, brakes fine, temps on rotors are close enough each other but now I have this noise in the morning and sometimes when brake is used at low speeds. But not always. I did a short video with noise. https://youtube.com/shorts/DgmLx5wUjCI I read Mendel's docs about brakes countless of times, I watch endless youtube videos about brake job and I think we did it right. That noise I never heard it in 5 years since I have the car, just now after brake job. Yesterday I look over Mendel's pdf once more time and I saw this. I'm pretty sure that we didn't pay attention that those plates are similar but not the same. It's the only thing that I've missed. Maybe we put those in wrong order but I doubt that's the source of that sporadic noise. Any thoughts? Thanks.
