need help. I changed the back pads and rotors today on my 2016 hybrid prius. What is the torque spec for the rear caliper bracket? Is it 42 or 79. I know for the front is 79. Thanks
That may be the specification for that part on third-generation Prius cars, but for fourth-generation models, including @RoToRuter's 2016, the Repair Manual (more info) says, under Brake: Brake (Rear): Rear Brake: Installation: 2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING (a) Install the rear disc brake cylinder mounting to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with the 2 bolts. Torque: 107 N·m {1091 kgf·cm, 79 ft·lbf}
It should be in the attachment. Also, check out the rear brake drag link in my signature: I believe it's applicable to fourth gen as well.
Installed Rear Brake Pads:BOSCH BC1354 QuietCast Ceramic and Rotors: BOSCH 50011484 QuietCast. Installed Front Brake Pads:BOSCH BC1184A QuietCast Ceramic and Rotors: ACDELCO 18A82071 Gold. I have tried the BOSCH 50011484 QuietCast Rotors in the front but they don't fit. According to bosch website 50011484 should fit front and back. Will keep you posted on the performance.
