Rear camera installation question on 2012 Prius Two base radio

I am planning on installing a backup camera in my new 2012 Prius Two. I do not plan on trying to hook it into the base radio and LCD screen but rather use a rear view mirror with monitor built in.

The camera is Ottonavi #CAMXXCM-0988CM $35.00 on the Ottonavi site.
The rear mirror/monitor is off eBay and about $25.00 and no brand name attached

Obviously I'm looking to go as inexpensively as possible and as quick and simple as I can get it.

The camera shows it fits 2009-2011 but not the 2012. Has anyone tried this camera on a 2012? I would think that the setup hasn't changed much and the camera should fit but have seen nothing here on the threads to indicate that. Has anyone used a camera listed for a 2011 on a 2012 car?

Is there a better way to do this?
