Can I ask people to post pictures of their screens on their Prius Prime when the backup camera is on? I've noticed recently that I can see a bit of the top of my license plate and I don't remember being able to see it before. I'd like to compare mine with some of yours to see if I'm nuts or if somehow my camera got misaligned in the 6 weeks since I've had it. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help.
It is the same with the Gen 4 Prius. Poor design, IMHO, this has been mentioned in the Gen 4 forum and is "normal".
I never noticed that I can see the license plate in the backup camera. But next time I sit, I will look at it more carefully and will try to take a snap shot.
I've always been able to see my license plate and much of the bumper. Good thing - you can see just how close you are to touching something.
I am also confirming that I can see the License plate in the backup camera. Only noticed it, after reading this thread.
I thought I’d seen a change to the backup camera’s field of view, too... It rained hard and a droplet hung on the camera, which magnified the view looking straight down and made me take notice of the plate. I dried the lens and still saw the plate. “What? Did it show the plate before?” I wondered. But, I checked the guidelines.. the red 1-1/2 foot guideline is exactly 1-1/2 feet, and the 3-foot guideline is indeed 3 feet. The backup camera works as specified. Whew!... It’s just me, lol.
