Rear hatch slow to open?

    Anyone else having this issue? I have to "help" the struts to raise the hatch.:(
    Personally, I would have welcomed alittle more assist (gas pressure) in the struts but I guess Toyota decided it would be difficult for some to close? The hatch does open up pretty high.:D

    Mine opens fairly quickly. It's quick enough that I don't feel like I'm waiting on it. The colder temps we've had off and on have not slowed it down much.

    If anything, there's less pressure in these struts. I don't have to pull hard like I have to on our 2005 to close it.

    Cold temperatures will also affect the struts.

    Mine's a little slow but doesn't bother me, seems kind of spaceship-ey when it opens slow.

    if it opened too fast it would hit my garage door opener track and probably gouge the spoiler

    Wipe off the strut rods and then put a very light film of oil
    on them, they'll do much better.
