A thief smashed my rear quarter window. He didn't manage to steal anything. I taped it up then pulled up the upholstery to vac up every last bit of glass. Insurance can have somebody replace it in a week. Is it possible to replace this window myself? It's only about 8" across.
It's fixed in place with a bead of urethane adhesive, that has to be cut through, then leveled, then re-done for the new glass. It's the kind of thing auto glass shops do routinely ... you can find the procedure in the repair manual, it doesn't look like rocket science, but just tedious and fiddly if you're doing it one time, haven't had practice, and don't have all the right stuff on hand, including the adhesive and a couple types of primers/accelerators. -Chap
