my wife calls and tells me the red exclamation triangle came on for about 30 seconds then when off. i scanned it for codes. it only had a stored code in the hv ecu of p3000. what does this code mean? thank you
P3000 is not a valid Hybrid Battery Controller ECU code for the Gen II Prius (I assume yours is the 2007). JMD's link refers to a Gen I. What did you use to scan it?
it is a 2007. a snap on solus ultra scanner. i went through each computer for codes and in the hybrid system it gave me options of the hv ecu and hv battery. the code was under the history codes for the hv ecu. i called the dealer and am taking it in tomorrow. the service writer seems to suspect the hv battery.
You may want to contact these guys at least speak to them if the Traction Battery failed. The big battery is the Traction Battery. The dealer may charge $3,500. The rebuilt guys are under $1,800 Hybrid High Voltage Battery Specialists Remanufactured Hybrid Vehicle Battery Packs
Please list the codes that the dealer finds here. I am aware of a number of cases where various scanners have come up with erroneous readings when scanning the Prius. Techstream seems to be the best and final answer.
the code was for a low voltage for the 12v battery. it was a history code. i had replaced the 12v battery with an optima. its most likely that was when the code was set. the dealer found no other problems. they did do the steering shaft recall.
