It's a 2006 with 18000kms. Change brake pads and then abs and vsc lights came on. Drove as it is then then red triangle came on. Now the car is not having power and moves very slow. Tried changing relays in the 12v fuse box and did a diagnosis by a 3rd party then the red triangle and engine light went off but abs,vsc and hand brakes lights were still on and the car was performing well but the hybrid battery wasn't charging above 4bars. Drove like 60kms and then engine and red triangle came on again. When I start then the engine comes on mad makes a jerk noise when I change the gear to D or R as if the engine is gonna fall off. When i did the diagnosis then the "open circuit in main relay 2" doesn't get cleared. Others get cleared. Please advise
welcome! you might need toyota tech stream diagnosis software. really only 18,000 kms? could be your 12 volt or hybrid battery.
Sorry, it's 180000kms. Last year I replaced the hybrid battery so it's only 14months old. This happened only after replacing the brake pads
might be worth checking the 12v before paying for diagnosis. is the replacement battery new oem, salvage or rebuilt? who changed the brake pads?
I changed the abs relays yesterday so the ABS and handbrake light went off. But red triangle,VSC and engine light is on. But if take the 12v battery terminal out now connect then it goes of but after a while the engine, red triangle, vsc and yellow warning light comes on. I doubt it's the 12v battery
Okay, I am gonna put a new 12v battery tomorrow and see what happens. The handbrake is really weak, if put the handbrake on car moves very easily so could it be the reason?
only if the hand brakes are dragging and causing a speed sensor problem. you might want to jack it up and rotate the wheels, but you should have the hand brake fixed anyway. don't buy a new 12v unless the old one is bad, or more then 6 years old.
Okay let me check the handbrake. I do feel like it's dragging. Do you think that it could be the inverter coolant pump?
I fixed the handbrake today but the lights are on still. The 12v battery life is good. Could it be the inverter pump
P0A63 = Drive Motor "A" Phase W Current P0A78 = Drive Motor "A" Inverter Performance P0A7A = Generator Inverter Performance C1311 = Open in Main Relay 1 Circuit C1313 = Open in Main Relay 2 Circuit It looks like you have some serious issues with this one. I would say you need to work through the diagnostic decision tree in the repair manual. In the US, you can get a 2 business-day subscription for US$15 at techinfo.toyota.com, but not sure if that is accessible to you in SA.
All this happened after changing brake pads. Could it be a speed sensor or ABS doing this? Took it to toyota and try cleared the faults but it comes on again. The inverter is fine and also the 12v battery is fine. HV battery charges also
A while back I had the same warning lights. I think I had left the parking brake set, and after several miles travel the drag triggered the lights. Releasing the parking brake got rid of several of the lights, but the triangle one persisted. Cycling the power a number of times (5?) cleared the triangle. Never pulled any codes, and the car has been working fine after several months. I'd say the brake pads are somehow dragging.
Thwre was a problems with 12v battery(one cell was dead) so the inverter wasn't functioning properly and the car Engine will make a noise not as normal and if I accelerate then no power. There was a whole lot of codes. When I replaced the battery the codes got cleared except for P0A63. If I clear the faults then it gets cleared but as soon as I start the car and if I accelerate or put it into D or R then the car jerk and warning lights comes on. It wasn't in any accidents so do you think it's an inverter failure? Or have to clear the codes and reset by a Toyota Dealer with a toyota kit? Or transaxle problem? Or the sensor that monitors between the inverter and transaxle? Yeah the inverter coolant is below low in the can
