The leaves and pine needles used to fall before Halloween. We'd buy those big, orange leaf bags that looked like huge pumpkins. This year, the needles fell a couple of days after Halloween and maple trees were brilliant on the drive to and from work. Just another observation having nothing to do with seasons shifting towards a later fall and earlier spring. An aside, I'm doing another study looking at ZVW30 Prius warm-up but need a sub-freezing night to cold-soak the car. We had one cold snap a couple of weeks ago so I was able to get some data. Well at 3:00 AM, it was 37 degrees outside so I was hoping at dawn it might be freezing or close enough. No luck, the wind changed and it was 44 degrees at dawn. Well maybe later this month.
