I replaced key fob remote two years ago with new CR2032. but lately when I pull on the door handle, it doesn't work the first time. This morning I had to pull out the key fob to unlock the car. Also, what's the range of the key fob. Mine is very short about 10-15 feet even right after I replace the battery. Sometimes, as I walk away from the car and try to lock with the fob, I had to stop and get back near the car to lock it.
Your range is about right. Note that in a big city that is saturated with radio frequency emissions of all types, interference can cause problems with keyless entry. How far is the fob away from the car when not in use?
Some batteries sit on the shelf for a couple years before you buy it, shortening it's service life. Sounds like you need another battery
