So after being involved in an accident on Monday, the other person's insurance has released the Prius for repairs. We naturally said that we wanted it taken to the Toyota dealership, which they were fine with. So far, so good. Until we called Toyota. Apparently, Toyota doesn't have a body shop in my metro area. They send out all of the major repair work to the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep place up the road. This wouldn't be such a problem, normally, but this is a hybrid. But all parties involved (Toyota and C.D.J.) swear that this is all perfectly fine. So my question is, has anyone else run up against this? And if I were to be really concerned, where else can I go to check my hybrid drive system???
What is damaged? Did you inspect the dealer's facilities? Do they do a good job? Sheet metal & plastic is sheet metal & plastic. Any good shop can do the job.
