I am considering replacing my stock pack with a Ford escape hybrid pack, or 2. I read on here about spoofing the sense lines with a series of 1k resistors to the sense lines. the prius uses NIMH cells configured as 6 cells at 1.2 v per module, with 28 modules = nominal 201.6 volts. the escape uses NIMH too. configured as 5 cells at 1.2 v per module. This would work out to 33.6 modules, unfortunately not an even number of modules. I am thinking of trying using 34 modules which would be a nominal 204 volts. Since the Pius doesn't use the full range of power, I hope this is close enough. I will manually wire out the sense leads to start with and occasionally verify the cells are balanced. The escape has connections at 6 volt points as opposed to 7.2 for readings I like the ford escape cells, because every pack I have opened have virtually no corrosion. If I am missing something here, or if anyone has a link to an easy way to monitor the new pack, let me know. I have some experience with the arduino
sounds like you're all over it. please keep us posted and all the best! ps, i would love to see two packs installed.
