Everyone! - I have a 2007 Prius. Code Was P1150. My Prius mechanic previously told me I should replace the Coolant Heat storage tank . I bought one and had it replaced by another mechanic (my guy isn't available at this time). The engine lite was on for about 30 miles after the replacement, then went off. However, the Red Triangle light keeps coming on when I'm driving (it will go off when I slow down to about 5 mpg - but otherwise it is on). The code is still P1150 when I check it. But the add'l info says 'Sensor Circuit Range Malfunction' - Anyone know off hand what might be going on or have a similar issue? I am trying to avoid taking it to the dealer, but don't want it to explode either... Thank you!
Welcome to PriusChat!! Which device or App are you using to retrieve that OBD2 code (DTC), as many prefer using Techstream (dealer technician software). Here is the workup for DTC P1150 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/2054m/cip1150a.pdf
With a P1151 one wouldn't normally replace the CHR tank. It is usually a problem with the temperature sensor connector, wiring, or the temperature sensor itself. It can also be air in the system if the coolant was changed recently.
