Replaced new 12v Battery

    hi;
    today i went to garage and replaced 12v battery and they replaced to me but, i saw that this was removed and the car was working fine. i do not know about this cable what kind of cable is this is it ok to be removed?

    That's the venting tube. I assume you bought the wrong battery.

    can you please explain me what is venting tube? and will it be any problem?

    our prius batteries go inside the car as oppose to a normal car battery, which sits in the engine compartment, outside the car. Because of this design the Prius OEM AGM batteries have a vent built in, where the venting tube attaches.

    thank you buddy i will just replace the battery with another one which has a venting tube hole

    If it's not AGM type, that's "issue" number two: AGM type have a finer packed interior, much lower ability to spill, say in an accident.

    The gas that vents is hydrogen, BTW.
