I recently replaced a cracked windshield. The pic on the left has some sort of foam or rubber keeping the adhesive from being seen. The pic on the right is my new windshield that doesn't have that foam or rubber on the outside. Is this safe? I'd assume so because this company has been replacing a boat load of windshields for a while now. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Does the car on the right just have exposed sealant? With exposed edges of the glass? If so, that's pretty sketchy. I would question whether they forgot to install the rubber/plastic trim as shown in the left photo. If it's not sealant, then they probably used a "less than OEM" quality trim to cover the sealant. Still sketchy. Not fond of the exposed corner edge of the glass.
looks like they didn't have this thing called the reveal molding. Reveal Molding - Toyota (75533-47050) | Toyota Parts
