Getting into the Big Apple I have seen more Prii than I could count... Including the Prius taxis! Someone is doing a good job of breeding them and releasing them into the wild... One street I was on I counted seven... Gen II and Gen IIIs...
For years it's been hard to find them in Staten Island, land of the Escalade lovers, but recently I too have been seeing more around here.
Here on Long Island, the Prius is a rare animal--few and far between. What a contrast to my SF bay area days, where you couldn't go more than a few minutes without seeing many.
Prius was the #1 selling car in California last year. They are everywhere. I think the EV and hybrid are accepted here. I see plenty of Leafs in my office parking structure and the Diamond lane is now chuck full of Leafs, Teslas, Volts and Pip's. The EV and hybrid people all park near each other on the top floor. Maybe they are waiting for the chargers to get installed.
