I have a hatchback model. My inside mirror view is not clear because of the spoiler on the tailgate that divides the top glass and the bottom glass. I plan to remove the mirror and move it to the top edge of my windshield. This will allow me to see over top of the spoiler (hopefully). Has anyone done this? Does it help you see?

    Maybe raise your seat up?
I've never heard of someone doing this. It seems it would take some engineering to get it completed.

One thing that has annoyed me about the rear-view mirror is when the auto-dimming doesn't, because the car with the obnoxious headlights is following me at the exact distance where the headlights reflect right into my eyes but the shadow of the rear spoiler falls on the mirror light sensor.

I've heard of people just spinning the mirror on its mount to solve that one, so it's upside-down with the light sensor on the now-top edge.
