Originally posted in Fred's House of Politics, not everyone suffers that forum: Just a heads up on my news sources: New York Times e-mail note (for fee) - there are editorial bias issues but their COVID-19 coverage has been dead on. So I treat their other postings, especially political ones, with my built-in FOX filter. PressRun e-mail by Eric Boehlert (for fee) - does a dead on accurate review of the Republican bias and propaganda that has infiltrated The New York Times, Washington Post, and other traditional media. So I need to do a proper cut-and-paste with appropriate footnote. YouTube (groan advertising) - this is my go to source for technology: EV cars and history. I add or subtract channels as events prove out. Google News -> Science - a reasonable summary of new empirical reports. I typically use this to find the source publication and cite it. Forums (some paid for) PriusChat, InSideEV, and Tesla Owners - my current interest thanks to a 2019 Std Rng Plus Model 3 with 56,458 miles. Podcasts (various) - more interesting than the vast wasteland of AM/FM and satellite radio. I will try to be better when citing a source behind a paywall to give a usable footnote. I've already seen that New York Times e-mail articles often come with details that the 'freebie' web pages either lack or won't render if not a paid subscriber. Yes, I realize that self-selecting news sources can lead to 'stovepiping', a blindness to other points of view. Happily, the excellent minds in PriusChat usually do a good job of offering good suggestions. BTW, I do use 'ignore user' as a squelch for wandering trolls. Only one on my current list. Bob Wilson ps. I may duplicate post outside of Fred's House of Politics.
My "news" sources: All of the above...except for those behind a paywall. Since a large part of my job involves driving I listen to a LOT of podcasts...many of these from government funded radio. The only filtering I use involves shorting out the folks on the Sean Hannity/Rachael Maddow ends of the spectrum, and as a matter of fact those two are probably the only free podcasts with something approaching a nation audience that I regularly eschew. Most humans are intolerant of opposing viewpoints, which is why deep leftists/statists are...."well represented" down in the echoy basement of PC. More is the pity. As far as liberating this thread so that more 'norms' can see it? Bring it! MORE LIGHT. Less heat.
