My dealer has issued a "required mainenance" form for my 05. Most of the items are merely inspections but one calls for checking the state of charge in the HV battery. Does anyone know how this might be done?
That's a bogus way to get you to come in and pay extra money for routine maintainence. If there are any TSBs, Service campaigns, etc you'll hear about them here.
want to check the state of charge for the HV battery toggle the MFD to the energy panel and look at the battery if it's more than 2 pink bars it's just fine.
Ignore any maintenance schedules or "requirements" sent you by a dealer. Follow Toyota's maintenance schedule, which came with the car.
In Japan, the annual HV battery inspection is mandatory for the continuous battery warranty. The HV battery is devided into 14 blocks, 2 modules/block, and they check the variances of voltages, SOC and internal resistance of each blocks using the scan tool. Ken@Japan
