I tried to reset my TPMS light using the procedure in the owner's manual after installing my snow tires on the OEM wheels. Now it looks like there is no effects as the lights will just keep blinking even if i am holding the button down. Does this mean the tire shop broke one of my sensor during the install? Thanks
Sure sound like that's what happened. I assume you checked to be sure the pressures were up? I have only reset mine once a long time ago so I don't remember for sure, but the owner's manual implies it should only blink 3 times when you reset. Hope you don't have any problems convincing the tire shop they broke it.
I did it the first time, it blinked for 3 times. I can't get it to do it again. I assume they busted my sensors?
Resetting the TPMS warning level is something that you would normally do very rarely. Like when you decide to operate the tires at a different pressure. I run 42 pounds front, 40 pounds rear, so the dealer setup was too low. Pressing the RESET button establishes the warning pressure at 75% of current, which would be 31/30 for me.
yup, it's broken. Paying $60 to mount tires, now they gave me a broken sensor, at least they didn't scratch the rims
Duh, the store manager called me back they had broke and replaced one of the sensor. Of course the light is on if they didn't reset it on the ECU!
