Restoring my Prius

    So my new car has a few quirks. I thought I would start off simple but I wanted to ask before I bother installing these. Is the trunk meant to open hands free on a an 09 Prius? What i mean is, if I hit the latch to open, should it raise open on its own or is it meant to be assisted like it is now? I figured getting fresh struts would be a good start, is this a good idea?

    Secondly, the PO damaged the front bumper and I was hoping to get this replaced via a junkyard but no luck so far. The plastic undercover seems to be broken along with the bottom trim of the bumper.

    Rear hatch doesn't really keep going up on its own except maybe the final part of opening where it does, but it also very much assists even the weakest person to be able to open it.

    As for front bumper cover those are rare at junk yards because they're often the first part of a Prius to get damaged. But Ebay has primed new ones for about $250, more for matching paint.

    Also I'm in Western Washington / South Puget Sound so if you're near there, I maintain a rack of Gen2 Prius parts and aftermarket upgrades that's too many things to list here, but I'll sell 'em for a great price. Private message me if you want to know more?
