Hello, I have brought a camera and I have done the wiring, everything is plugged in but I have not managed to power it. It requires 12v power. I have looked at the fuse box there is nothing for 12v, I have tried the central console to plug in it via usb, but didn't work. I have looked at videos and online but nothing really helps me. Do you have any suggestiongs? The yellow is plugged into the camera at the back, I have tapped the 2nd wire into the reverse lights its just the power which is the issue. I have a 2013 pirus, the media control is old school. Thanks
Why does it need power or why not just put the power wire temporarily on the reverse brake light power wire so you have power going to the system when in reverse and the reverse lights come on The camera comes on It also gets power I don't think it needs power when you're not in reverse I could be wrong where are you trying to pick up the power up in front of the car or back in the hatch or area?
Never thought of it that way, the wire for power is at the front, so I will need to extend it somehow and give it a go. But do you think the revsering light is 12v?
That's what I thought If the wires up at the front you should have plenty of choices get out your test light and there's usually one behind the stereo that holds the clock and all that nonsense You can just put a t-tap right on that wire put a spade connector on the end of your power wire for your camera plug it into the T-Tap you just plugged into the yellow wire on the stereo and you'll have power at the camera all the time of course it doesn't come on until ya throw it in reverse generally speaking. And if you had to pick up that reverse you could pick it up right off of the connector at the brake pedal switch which is turning your brake lights off and on so then everything would be connected at the front and there's just your signal cable running from the rear camera to the front of the car or it's wireless I don't know
