I went from a 02 VW Jetta Diesel to this 2013 Prius. It has been great. I ride a ferry to work which can have wait time for over an hour to cross the river ( James River @ Jamestown VA ). So sitting in the car with the engine running to stay cool or warm was a concern. While waiting to cross & sit on the boat, not only did the car not use the engine but it ran the AC & Radio the whole time on battery power. Only once during the past week did the engine come on & that was only for a few minutes. I am only 23 miles from work. Today I drove around which is 57 miles & got 54 mpg. I am getting about 48-52 MPG these past two weeks. Very pleased with this car & Casey Toyota in Williamsburg, VA for getting me a great deal.
