Hi everyone, On my recently acquired prius prime, I came to notice the passenger high beam was not working, as this car was involved in a minor front right collision, the right hand headlight was not in the best shape, so I bought a replacement from rock auto -- Well even after replacing the whole assembly, the right hand high beam still doesnt work. Any ideas what to try? or ideas to troubleshoot? Thank you Tom
Time to whip out the DVM and wiring schematics. Check voltages and signals. Did you follow the wiring harness back a bit, to look for nicked wires, bent or broken connections? Possible chassis ground broke-off? Did you test the replacement before installing? Could it be defective? If you can't make a jumper wire test rig, just unplug the other side and plug it in there to test it. I think your Prime has LED head lamps, which are polarity driven - incandescence don't care which way the current is traveling. I had that issue on halogen to LED swaps in other cars. You'll be amazed how sloppy the workmanship is when you dig into something. Good Luck....
I dont have a wiring diagram - it looks like there is "box" that has a large connector that connects the car to the headlight assembly, and then that "box" has 2 connectors that connect it to the individual lights in the headlight assembly. The weird thing is there are only 4 wires connecting the car to the right hand headlight assembly... Do you happen to have a wiring diagram?
Sorry, Don't have a wiring diagram. If those two connectors aren't keyed - you can try cross wiring them to see if you have a lamp vs wiring issue.
