I need to replace the molding between the top of the windshield and the portion of the roof that raises when you open the sunroof. I went to the dealer and neither the parts dept nor the service dept could tell me if I could purchase just the molding by itself or if I have to replace the entire piece that raises. I even asked one of their mechanics and he didn't know. Big price difference between the two. Does anyone know the answer to this?
Have you checked on parts.toyota.com yet? The topic has come up here before ... if I remember right, the thing people are usually interested in is just an edge treatment on the glass that isn't available separately, and sun exposure eventually uglifies it, but maybe the easiest fix is just to razor-blade it off and apply some other aesthetic treatment to the edge of the glass.
