In the last few days, I have been getting out of the office later (after 6 pm) and since my car is parked outside, it is obviously very cold inside. With this generation of the Prius, it takes quite a while for the heat to work effectively. As a result, I am seriously considering this seat heaters: Comfort Heat® Carbon Fiber Seat Heater at Sparks Toyota-Scion, Myrtle Beach, SC Has anyone tried installing these in their car?
Darell installed similar seat heaters in his Gen 2 Darell's Electric Vehicle Page Go to Prius Hybrid page (in frame on left) and then Mods at top of page, look for Seat Heaters and Lumbar Support
I have put one which looked like that.. installed together with leather seats. Heater works fine; it is too hot on high, so I only put it on high until it warms up then switch to low. Since installation requires to pull off OEM covers, cutting and replacing hog rings you might as well do the same.
