Does anyone know what routine maintenance is required on a 2007 Prius. I had the oil and filter changed, then 5 days later the maintenance light came on. The car has 177000 miles on it. I have new tires, brakes. The engine is running fine. I don't have the maintenance manual because I bought the car used and I did not get any 2007 manuals for the car. The only services I could find online went up to 140000 miles and that has already been done,
welcome! it's basically rinse and repeat. if the first 140k services you found are complete to the owners manual requirements, it's just a matter of starting over. you can find owners manuals on line. most importantly, at that mileage, you need to know if and when all the different fluids were changed. while you are researching, it's easy to check/clean/replace the air and cabin filters. did the services you found include transmission fluid change? if not, that would be an excellent idea. have the serpentine belt and water pump been replaced? have all the recalls been performed? there's a great sticky under the gen 2 maintenance forum by member @galaxee , called, 'what services you need and what you don't'. another important item is the 12 volt battery. it's a good idea to know how old it is and/or test it for health. a dead 12v will leave you stranded, and there are usually no warnings beforehand.
The maintenance light is simply a 5K timer; it does not tell you anything about what has or hasn't been done. Reset procedure is in the manual as well as the service schedule. Bisco has you covered there
As the OP does not have the manual to which to refer, this thread Maintenance Required | Post #3 has the procedure. hope this helps.
FYI, you can download the manuals from Toyota. 2007 Toyota Prius Owners Manual and Warranty - Toyota Owners
