My car is now 14 months old, and so the free Safety Connect service has ended. I am curious if the hardware in it can be used with another provider, that may offer better services such as OnStar, than the one Toyota contracted with? Or perhaps with another monitoring service that may be cheaper? Perhaps it may be possible with a software change?
