Hello everyone, Newbie here! Just got a Winter Grey Prius Two a month ago and have been lurking this forum ever since. I used to drive a 2004 VW GLI for 10 years that I modded like crazy. I got the Prius thinking I was done modding cars, but I've developed a list of mods I'd like to slowly take care of for handling and aesthetics. One of the first things I'd like to do is install the TRD springs. I plan to order from ToyotaPartsPeople, but I'll need help with the install. I checked with Mossy (where I got the car) and they quoted $730. TLC (Toyota Lexus Care) in Kearny Mesa quoted me $700. This seems steep to me, especially since I installed the springs on my previous car with a buddy for the price of a 24-pack of beer. I searched the forum already and found this thread: San Diego Mod Support..... | PriusChat, but since it's already 2-years old, I'm not sure how valid it is. Can anyone recommend a shop that won't quote it as an 8 hour job? Any help is appreciated! -Fred \
I met up with @sfv41901 last weekend and he installed my TRD springs fast and for a good price. I am really digging them. They're smooth, firm, and offer much improved handling on freeway overpasses. On the down side, they tend to bounce quite a bit if you're getting aggressive on rough terrain.
