I am having some warnings popping up in my 2016 Pruis and next Tuesday the dealer will take a closer at them major one so that should be covered. I was wondering though whether all codes will stay logged even when they clear by themselves? I’ve got some warnings about the parkingsensors and the ICS popping up shortly, but they either clear themselves after a short while and/or after powering down and up again. Will these also be visible for the dealer or are these removed from the logs as they are cleared?
Yeah, the computer will track codes even if they clear because the thing that threw the code in the first place no longer throws that code. I think the only two ways to clear them are to use a code reader or to disconnect the battery terminal for a minute.
