Unless there is something very particular about Toyota diagnostic codes, I would expect that you just plug into the OBD II connector, press Menu, then Scan. You should see any stored codes. Then, if you want to, you can clear the codes.
ScanGauge will only read standard engine and emission codes generated by the Check Engine Light. It can be programmed to read Prius specific HV Battery DTC's but it is pretty complicated.
